Interview, research, review, write, publish
Welcome to the blog of the official Manchester Children’s Book Festival 2012 reporters.
Manchester Metropolitan University has assigned 12 year five pupils from two south Manchester primary schools to carry out their own research, devise their own interview questions and conduct their own interviews – none of the work is done for them.
You will find interviews with poets and authors, and other important people associated with the Festival. You will also find reviews of the event, perhaps a book review or two, and many other fantastic ideas our reporters have throughout the project.
The pupils write every word themselves following training in school with journalist Rachel Broady.
Feel free to comment – share your ideas; your opinions on our authors, poets; tell us about your favourite book or most-loved fictional character; maybe you could tell us about the best news story you’ve read; and what you enjoyed most about the fabulous Manchester Children’s Book Festival.
The Manchester Children’s Book Festival runs from June 28 until July 8 at various locations in the city, including Manchester Metropolitan University.
